So, you must be sick of all of those ads you see of the chicks with the before and after pictures....I believe it is an ad for the Acai Berry and whatever else diet plan "as seen on Oprah and major news broadcasts"....
Well I don't know about you, but I am not about to make someone else rich by buying into their diet plan, because you have to actually purchase the products they tell you to use online. They tell you to visit so and so's website to see THEIR exact plan of weight loss. You gotta KNOW that these websites are all made from the same company, and these guys use spyware or adware to track where you are viewing the ad from, so they can put so and so's name on it, and YOUR city, making it seem like this person is from YOUR town, making these ads seem more close to home... F*ck all that sh*t. I am here to provide you with the exact regimen I use to diet. I've done this diet before, I lost 10 lbs in a lil over 1 week. No bullsh*t! I have nothing to gain from this blog, I just was bored and wanted to see if I could compete with these stupid Acai berry diet stuff... Some of this info is taken off other's blogs, but I have personally done the diet, and am about to start it again, so please trust me on this info....
A 12-week pilot study, led by Dr. Ken Fujioka, monitored weight and metabolic factors of the 100 men and women who participated in the Scripps Clinic “Grapefruit Diet” study. On average, participants who ate half a grapefruit with each meal lost 3.6 pounds, while those who drank a serving of grapefruit juice three times a day lost 3.3 pounds. However, many patients in the study lost more than 10 pounds.
The Grapefruit Diet: what is and is not allowed
Meals are accompanied by grapefruit. It is also recommended that participants drink about 8 glasses of water per day, along with unlimited amounts of black coffee. This regimented diet does not allow most complex carbs, and doesn't allow for snacking in-between meals. However, the consumption of most vegetables is encouraged and you are allowed to prepare them in generous amounts of butter.
Typical daily meals on the Grapefruit Diet
For breakfast, a typical meal involves half a grapefruit, eggs, bacon, and coffee or tea to drink. An example of a lunch and dinner involve grapefruit (naturally), salad, and meat of any style and amount.
Grapefruit Diet calorie intake—very low
The only reason that a person following this diet would see success over such a short period is due to the very low total calorie content. Depending on the person, the calorie content may be so low as to be insufficient for daily nutrition. People following this diet have reported dizziness and upset stomach, perhaps from the combination of so much coffee and so little food. Overall, if you can stand going to bed hungry for a few weeks, then you'll be ok on this diet. It really works tho:
Sample Meal Plan:
* Breakfast
2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, black coffee, 1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces grapefruit juice
* Lunch
Salad with salad dressing, unlimited meat, and 1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces grapefruit juice
* Dinner
Red or green vegetables (except starchy ones such as peas, beans, corn, sweet potatoes) or salad, unlimited meat or fish, and 1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces grapefruit juice
* Bedtime snack
8 ounces skim milk
In the Grapefruit Diet you can use all the butter and salad dressing you desire and prepare foods in any method, including fried. Grapefruit juice must be unsweetened. Any food or beverage not on the diet is not allowed. Snacking is only permitted after dinner. Drink 64 ounces of water daily. Eat all of the approved foods.
